FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Which audio formats can I load?
MP3, WAV, and M4A (AAC) are supported. Files can be up to 30 MiB and 10 minutes long.
What format is the output?
MP3 stays MP3 (192 kbps) and WAV stays WAV. M4A (AAC) is saved as MP3 (192 kbps) because browsers cannot encode AAC.
Are audio files uploaded?
No. The file is decoded and trimmed in your browser. The selected audio and the exported file are not stored on a server.
How does automatic silence detection work?
The whole file's loudness is analysed, and a threshold is derived from the file's own noise floor and peak level. The first and last points where sound is sustained are detected. The threshold is deliberately permissive so quiet intros survive, and you can always adjust the result with the margin setting or the waveform handles.
How do I adjust the selection?
Drag on the waveform to create a selection. A plain click only moves the playback position and keeps the selection. Tab to the edge handles and use arrow keys (0.1 s, Shift for 1-second steps) for precise adjustments.
